Another Lady Victimised by Cyber Crooks

Hyderabad: A 34-year-old female working in the health sector from Hyderabad, received an APK file four days ago purportedly from IndusInd Bank Online Processing. Since the victim had a bank account with IndusInd Bank, she assumed it might be genuine and opened the link. The file prompted her to fill in all her personal details. However, she became suspicious and did not enter any information.

The next day, the victim started receiving SMS messages on her mobile but did not disclose this to anyone. Meanwhile, amounts were being debited from her bank account. She later informed her bank and immediately blocked her account. However, by that time, all her savings, including fixed deposits, had been deducted from her account through multiple transactions. The total amount lost was Rs 7,44,999.
