Hyderabad: South Central Railway has been encouraging the digital payments all over the Zone to facilitate passengers with saving time in queue lines and maintaining accuracy in monetary transactions. In this direction, to promote digital transactions in Unreserved Ticketing, all the UTS counters have been replaced with advanced equipment along with latest version duly enabling QR code payment option by installing 879 QR Devices covering all UTS counters over South Central Railway.
This will facilitate in doing away the need for carrying cash and tendering exact change apart from procuring the tickets instantly. To further encourage cashless transactions in more ways and to increase digital payments even at General Booking & Reservation counters. This facility will reduce the overall time taken for completing the transaction time by enablingg cashless transactions, to avoid exchange of currency/coins and returning the change etc. It will be a hassle-free and convenient mode of payment for the passengers.
Separate devices have been provided at all ticketing ounters of all the stations across the zone right outside the ticket window. The relevant details for issuing ticket are fed into the system, before accepting the payment, QR code is displayed on these devices and the same can be scanned by the passenger through UPI based payment Apps present in mobile phone. After confirmation of the receipt of the amount, the ticket will be generated and issued to the passenger.
SCR GM Arun Kumar Jain appealed all the rail users to utilise this opportunity for purchasing the reserved tickets/general tickets which will immensely help them in tendering exact change and saves time in the transactions.
