Actor Babu Mohan Returns to TDP; Takes Party’s Membership

Hyderabad: TDP’s membership drive is progressing successfully in the two Telugu States. MLAs and party leaders are participating in the event and registering their names for the membership of the party. Tollywood actor and former minister Babu Mohan has also taken the membership of the Telugu Desam.
Speaking on the occasion, he said he had taken the TDP membership in Andol Assembly constituency. In this regard, Babu Mohan released a photo of himself as a member of the TDP on Tuesday. Babu Mohan joined the Telugu Desam Party with a fondness for late CM and the founder of the party Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. From here, Babu Mohan started his political career.
In 1999, he was elected as an MLA from Andol assembly constituency in Medak district. He served as State Minister of Social Welfare in the undivided State. He later joined the TRS party. In the 2004 and 2014 elections, he defeated Damodar Rajanarasimha of the Congress party and won as a TRS party candidate. However, in 2018, as he did not get a ticket from the BRS party, he joined the BJP. In the 2018 Assembly elections, he contested on a BJP ticket and lost to the TRS candidate Chanti Kranthi Kiran and in 2023 he contested on the same BJP ticket and lost to the Congress party candidate Damodar Rajanarasimha. He finally resigned from the BJP on February 7, 2023. He later joined the Praja Santhi Party in March this year, but quit it and returned to the TDP.
