ACB registers 17 cases involving 23 public servants

Hyderabad: State Anti-Corruption Bureau registered 17 cases during February 2025. Of these, 15 are trap cases and two are of Disproportionate Assets. Twenty-three public servants, including two outsourcing employees/private persons were trapped/arrested and remanded to judicial custody. Rs7,60,000 was seized in trap cases of various Departments viz. BC Welfare, Energy, Home, Forest, Agriculture & Co-operation, Education, Social Welfare, Panchayat Raj & Rural Development, Revenue, MA&UD and Transport, Roads and Buildings. In two cases of Disproportionate Assets, Assets worth Rs 4,13,78,767 were unearthed.

Further, the ACB got conviction in one trap case i.e. GM Sudarshan, Panchayat secretary, Kotagiri village & mandal, Nizamabad District, who had been trapped in 2014 was convicted on February 14, 2025 and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of Rs 20,000 for the offence punishable U/s 7 of the PC Act, 1988 and also sentenced to undergo RI for one year and to pay a fine of Rs 20,000 for the offence punishable U/s 13(1)(d) r/w 13(2) of the PC Act, 1988.
