Hyderabad: Minister for Industries Duddilla Sridhar Babu has reiterated that the 400-acre land in survey No. 25 at Kanche-Gachibowli is unequivocally government property.

Speaking to the media at Secretariat here on Tuesday, Sridhar Babu, along with Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, accused the BRS and BJP leaders of misleading the people for their political gains.

"Such actions are unacceptable. Political maneuvering that hinders the state's progress is not in the best interest of the people," he said.

The Minister clarified that the State government has not encroached upon even an inch of land belonging to Hyderabad Central University.

"Until now, the university has had no legal ownership rights over a single acre of land. Students and staff have long been demanding a resolution to this issue. However, the BRS government, during its tenure, ignored their concerns. Now, they are engaging in a false propaganda campaign against us," Sridhar Babu criticised.

The Minister further informed that a week ago, the State government held a dedicated meeting with the university's Vice-Chancellor and Registrar and responding to their request, the government has proactively taken steps to grant legal ownership rights to the university in accordance with regulations.

"Some individuals are spreading misinformation, alleging that we are destroying natural rock formations and water bodies. This is entirely false. We are proceeding with a well-defined action plan to safeguard the environment," he added.
