Young FICCI Ladies Organization (YFLO) on Friday organised a programme on “Shattering Stereotypes - Women in Sports, Onscreen, Beyond.”
Iranian Motorcyclist Dr Maral Yazarloo-Pattrick, Desert Marathoner Michelle Kakade, and former Olympian and Table Tennis champion Neha Aggarwal Sharma, were in conversation with YFLO Chairperson Ridhi Jain. Speaking about recent controversies in sports such as retirement due to sexual harassment, drug abuse and others, Neha Agarwal Sharma, currently serving as the Chief Partnerships Officer at Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ), said that the safety of women athletes is still an issue. Safety has now become a limiting factor for many parents to not encourage girls to pursue sports. But, things are slowly changing, she added quickly.
