Workshop on best practices for fish marketing held in AP

Visakhapatnam: Issues like various aspects of fish marketing systems, effective fish cold chain management, details of innovative containers for storage and handling of fish, use of phase change material as cooling medium, setting up more Matsya Vahini-eco-friendly fish kiosks for sale of fish came up for discussion at a daylong national level workshop here on ‘Best practices in fish marketing system in Andhra Pradesh,’ on Tuesday.
The programme was organised by National Productivity Council (NPC), New Delhi under the DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry with the sponsorship of the Department of Fisheries, Government of India and partnership of the Department of Fisheries, Andhra Pradesh and Andhra University.
The workshop delved into the various facets of fish marketing, highlighting effective strategies, initiatives, and technologies that can enhance the growth and sustainability of the fisheries sector. More than 300 participants took part in the discussions.
