We Are Going To Pay You Back, Remarks Trump As He Inches Closer To Victory
Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, is closing in on the 270 electoral votes needed to win, having claimed victory in three out of seven battleground states. He is currently speaking to a large crowd in West Palm Beach, Florida, where he declared, “I am your 45th and 47th President. I will fight for every citizen… We’re going to help our country heal. This is a magnificent victory of the American people. America has given us an unprecedented mandate. We have taken back control of the Senate.” U.S. House Speaker Johnson also confirmed Trump as the president-elect, according to Reuters.
Kamala Harris, the Democratic vice-presidential nominee, won’t address her supporters tonight, but her co-chair, Cedric Richmond, stated she is expected to speak tomorrow, as reported by CNN. This comes after Trump was declared the winner in two battleground states earlier in the day. Richmond emphasized that many votes are still being counted and some states have not yet been decided. “We still have votes to count. We still have states that have not been called yet. We will continue overnight, to fight to make sure that every vote is counted, that every voice has spoken,” he said.
Trump’s wins in Pennsylvania, Georgia, and North Carolina are crucial to his overall electoral count. In another major development, Republicans have gained control of the Senate, flipping key seats in Ohio and West Virginia. Meanwhile, tight House races in New York and California are still unfolding, with Democrats fighting to regain control of districts where Republicans have made surprising gains.
Concluding his speech Trump said, “ Success is going to bring us together and we are going to start by putting our America first. We have to put our country first for at least a period of time. We have to fix it. Because together we can truly make America great again for all Americans.”
