We are firm against sale of RINL: AP TDP chief

Visakhapatnam: TDP, whose support is crucial for the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre on Tuesday declared that it is strongly opposed to privatisation of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.
TDP State president Palla Srinivasa Rao, who has succeeded Tekkali MLA K Atchannaidu to head the ruling party, told the media here that their party is very firm against privatisation of RINL. He said they will find ways and means to strengthen the public sector unit. He said as they have decided to focus on development of capital at Amaravati, the State Government will develop Visakhapatnam as the financial capital. He said a conducive investment climate, which was not available during the five year rule of YSRCP, will be created to bring new investors. “We will seek return of investors like Abu Dhabi-based LuLu Group and Franklin Templeton to come back to Andhra Pradesh with investment proposals.
On the controversial decision to allow constructions on Daspalla lands, Hygriva project originally meant for building an old age home and exemptions given from 22/A of revenue laws will be reviewed. He said bind-over cases booked against the TDP and its allies when they were in Opposition will be withdrawn in 100 days.
