APEPDCL seeks additional grant of Rs 10 cr from BEE for revised plan

Visakhapatnam: Ushering in a new era of energy-efficient building construction, Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) under the aegis of Ministry of Power, has partnered with the APEPDCL and APSECM to construct a state-of-the-art Super ECBC building in Visakhapatnam and make it operational by June, 2024.
This landmark project, backed by a Rs 5 crore grant from BEE, serves as a shining example of the government's commitment to sustainable development and cutting-edge energy standards. According to the Media Advisor (Southern States) wing of BEE, A Chandrasekhar Reddy, as part of promoting energy efficiency in the building sector, the BEE came forward to fund for construction of a super ECBC building in Andhra Pradesh.
The APEPDCL spearheading this ambitious project for its training institute, has taken a significant step towards promoting sustainable infrastructure in the state. The building, initially envisioned as a G+1 structure, was later expanded to a G+2 with the unwavering support of the APCZMA, showcasing the project's dedication to excellence.
Meanwhile, at a review meeting, Abhay Bakre, Director General of BEE, commended APEPDCL for its achievement in the area of energy efficiency which helps for sustainability of the sector. BEE Secretary Milind Deora and Director, ECBC Sourab Didi have praised APEPDCL’s recognition at the 24th regulatory and policymakers retreat and the IPPAI power national awards-2024 as a testament to Discom’s outstanding performance in service and consumer awareness initiatives.
