Vizag intl cruise terminal welcomes first luxury cruise ship ‘The World’
The ship is a private residential complex for super rich & will continue to Andamans, Southeast Asia

Visakhapatnam: Eighty international tourists, who arrived on a super-luxury cruise liner ‘The World’ were thrilled to enjoy the grandeur and panoramic view of the City of Destiny and the hospitality of the people of Visakhapatnam during their maiden voyage to the city on Sunday.
This was the first luxury cruise ship to dock at the newly launched Vizag International Cruise Terminal (VICT) owned by Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA). The passengers who came in the ship along with a 281-member strong crew had a memorable experience when they were given immigration clearance in just 45 minutes following instructions for their hassle-free clearance by Commissioner of Police Ravi Shankar. "We had loads of fun during our visit to the city and also could secure clearances on a fast-track mode," Sophia, First Officer of The World, said.
"The tourists as well as the crew had a memorable experience in Visakhapatnam after seeing its picturesque locations, mainly its green-capped hillocks and the virgin beaches," ship's Captain Dag H Saevik said
The ship built in 2002, often described as a floating township, arrived here from Chennai. It will head to Andamans and from there to Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) Secretary T Venu Gopal told Bizz Buzz. The ship is a private residential cruise operated like a condominium complex with a provision to live on-board by super rich people. VPA sources said the ship management included Visakhapatnam on an experimental basis and they in future consider introducing a regular service.
VPA said they were extremely happy to announce the maiden arrival of the luxury cruise ship The World to its docks. "This momentous event marks a significant milestone in our commitment to becoming a premier destination for international cruise liners in the region," VPA Chairman M Angamuthu said.
VICT is a state-of-the-art facility designed to accommodate some of the world’s most prestigious cruise ships built with an investment of Rs 96 crore. The terminal is committed to providing first-rate services and amenities, enhancing the passenger experience, and contributing to the growth of tourism in the region.
