Vedanta Dividend Record Date 2024 Set for December 24: Key Details
Vedanta Limited, a company recognized for its consistent dividend payouts, is set to announce its fourth interim dividend for the financial year 2024-25 on Monday. The mining conglomerate, led by billionaire Anil Agarwal, will conduct a board meeting to finalize the dividend.
Earlier in October, Vedanta had scheduled a board meeting to declare the dividend but later canceled it due to unforeseen circumstances. A regulatory filing from the company at the time noted the withdrawal of the meeting notice for October 9.
The record date, a key factor in determining shareholder eligibility for dividends, has been set for December 24. Shareholders listed in the company’s records on this date will qualify for the dividend payout. This announcement ensures that only eligible stakeholders benefit from the interim dividend.
In accordance with regulatory norms, Vedanta has imposed a trading window closure. The window will remain shut for all designated individuals from December 12 to December 18, limiting transactions in company securities during this period.
During the current fiscal year, Vedanta has already declared three interim dividends amounting to Rs 35 per share. Historically, the company has issued 45 dividends since July 23, 2001, according to data from Trendlyne. Over the past 12 months, its equity dividend totaled Rs 46 per share.
With a current share price of Rs 519.70, Vedanta’s dividend yield stands at approximately 8.85 per cent. This metric, derived from dividing the total dividend by the share price, highlights the company’s strong commitment to rewarding its investors.
On Friday, Vedanta’s shares closed at Rs 519.70 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), registering a slight decline in value.
