This year, breaking from tradition, the UPSC CSE notification has been released earlier than usual. Unlike previous years when notifications were issued in February, the Commission has started the application process from January 22. - Notification Timeline: Unlike previous years, when notifications were issued in February, this year, the process begins in January.
- Prelims Exam Date: The preliminary examination is scheduled for May 25, 2025.
- Mains Exam Schedule: The descriptive mains examination will commence on August 22, 2025, and will span five days.
- Vacancies: Out of the total 979 vacancies, 38 are reserved for Persons with benchmark disabilities.

- Last Date to Apply: The online application process closes on February 11, 2025.
- Photograph Guidelines: Applicants must upload a photo taken within the last 10 days from January 12, 2025, with the face occupying three-fourths of the space, along with the name and date of capture clearly mentioned.

- Modification in One-Time Registration (OTR): Changes to the OTR profile are permitted only once after registration and within seven days post-application closure.
