Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw slams Congress govt over Allu Arjun's arrest says ‘it proves…’

On Friday, Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Union Minister, slammed Telegana’s congress government, saying Allu Arjun arrest proves that the old political party does not respect the creative industry.

The minister's comments have been made just a few hours after the Pushpa 2 actor's arrest in the investigation of the stampede that killed a woman at Sandhya Theatre, Hyderabad. The stampede took place amidst a sea of fans gathered near RTC Crossroads at the theatre to behold the sight of Arjun.

The surprise visit of Allu Arjun worsened the situation, and the stampede happened as the theatre management failed to arrange a separate exit for the actor and his team.

The police said, the chaos caused the death of Revathi, and her son experienced asphyxiation and is now under treatment in a hospital.

"The unfortunate incident happened at Sandhya Theatre which clearly pointed out a total failure in arrangements at both state and local levels," said the post of Vaishnaw on X.

He advised Revanth Reddy’s Telangana government to extend the minimum possible help to the victims and punish those who made arrangements for that day "instead of launching incessant attacks on film personalities."

'It makes me sad to see this becoming a norm in the year-long Congress rule there,' he added.

The screaming match started with all guns blazing between the Congress government and other parties as soon as news broke about Allu Arjun's arrest.

The BRS working president KT Rama Rao hit out at Arjun's arrest and termed the detention as a classic case of the "insecurity of the rulers."

Allu Arjun Garu was treated like any normal criminal, which serves no purpose, and that too for something which was not directly connected to him," Rao commented in his X post on it.

He also maintained that there was always some space for respect and dignified behaviour, terming the Congress government's "high-handed" behaviour as completely condemnable.

Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy, however, stated that the case in which Arjun was caught was not that of the state government but that the law is taking its own course.

Incidentally, Arjun was taken into custody from his house in a police vehicle and then brought to the police station at Chikkadpally. He was taken to Gandhi Hospital later for a medical examination.

He was then brought to Hyderabad court where he would undergo 14 days in judicial custody but was finally granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court.

However, after being out on bail, there was some delay in issuing the bail order, forcing the actor to spend the night in jail, authorities reportedly said.

Allu Arjun was released on Saturday early morning.
