Union Cabinet Approves 12 New Industrial Cities, Including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh

The Narendra Modi-led BJP Union Cabinet has approved 12 new projects worth Rs ₹28,602 crore.
These projects proposed under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP) are likely to transform India into a power powerhouse of the manufacturing sector.
The projects will be strategically located in different states, including Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Here are the states and their cities where these projects are coming up:
Telangana - Zaheerabad
Andhra Pradesh - Orvakal
Andhra Pradesh - Kopparthy
Uttarakhand - Khurpia,
Punjab - Rajpura-Patiala
Maharashtra - Dighi
Kerala - Palakkad
Uttar Pradesh - Prayagraj
Uttar Pradesh - Agra
Bihar -Gaya
Rajasthan - Jodhpur-Pali
However, there is no announcement on the location of the 12th project. It may likely come up in Haryana or Jammu & Kashmir.
These projects will become regional manufacturing hubs with focus on generating around 10 lakh direct employment and 30 lakh indirect employment.
The NICDP, acting as a catalyst, will help attract investments in these respective regions, eventually paving the way for India’s goal of achieving $2 trillion in exports by 2030.
