UGC NET 2024 Admit Cards Released: Exams Begin January 3
New Delhi, December 30: The University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) December 2024 session is set to commence on January 3. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the admit cards for the exam. Candidates can download their hall tickets by entering their application number, date of birth, and security PIN on the official website.
The UGC-NET exams will be held across the country in two sessions per day on January 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 15, and 16. A total of 85 subjects are included in this session, which serves as a qualification for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor posts, and PhD admissions.
Exam Structure and Details
The UGC-NET consists of two papers, both of which feature objective-type multiple-choice questions:
Paper 1:
50 questions worth 100 marks.
Topics include Reasoning Ability, Reading Comprehension, Direct Thinking, and General Awareness.
This is a qualifying paper.
Paper 2:
100 questions worth 200 marks, based on the candidate’s chosen subject.
The exam is of 3 hours duration, and the question papers are available in both English and Hindi, except for language subjects. Unreserved category candidates must secure a minimum of 40%, while reserved category candidates require at least 35% to pass.
Online Examination for Security
Following a paper leakage controversy earlier this year, UGC-NET examinations have transitioned to an online format to ensure security and eliminate the possibility of malpractice. The NTA has implemented robust measures to conduct the exams securely.
Candidates are encouraged to download their admit cards promptly and prepare thoroughly for this prestigious examination.
