TTD to Modernise Annaprasadam Kitchens and Water Systems in Tirumala
TTD is set to transform the kitchens in Tirumala with the help of TVS Motors to provide better Annaprasadam.
TVSM will provide all necessary proposals and designs for the complete modernisation of the Annaprasadam kitchens.
TTD is about to implement key changes in Tirumala. The temple trust has made another important decision to provide quality Annaprasadam to devotees coming from both India and abroad for the darshan of Lord Venkateswara.
Along with modernising the kitchens in Tirumala, TTD is preparing to install new equipment to meet future demands. An agreement will be signed with TVSM (TVS Motors) to fully transform the kitchens, including the mechanization process.
Under the first phase of this pilot project, work will begin at the Matrushri Tarigonda Vengamamba Annadana Satra. During the previous government’s tenure, there were criticisms regarding Annaprasadam, with complaints from devotees.
After the coalition government took power following the general elections, it initiated reforms in Tirumala, particularly focusing on improving Annaprasadam.
It is known that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu inspected the Annaprasadam center during his visit to Tirumala and suggested to officials that the kitchens be automated.
He highlighted the need for better equipment, cooking processes, and faster food distribution, aiming to serve Annaprasadam within just 30 minutes.
On October 24 and 25, TVS representatives inspected various locations in Tirumala, including the MTVAC, Vaikuntam Queue Complex-2, Narayangiri Sheds, Outer Ring Road Queue Lines, the newly constructed Vakulamatha Central Kitchen, and Padmavati Guesthouse. TTD officials explained the equipment and Annaprasadam preparation process to the TVS representatives. Following these inspections, it was decided that TVSM would undertake the modernization and mechanization of the kitchens on a pilot basis. TVSM has agreed to sign an MOU for this purpose.
TVSM will provide all necessary proposals and designs for the complete modernisation of the Annaprasadam kitchens.
Additionally, they will identify contractors to supply the required equipment and inform TTD. TVSM will also seek out consultants with expertise in kitchen transformations and will fund the project.
TTD is expected to sign the agreement with TVSM soon.
Meanwhile, the reservoirs in Tirumala are filling up due to the recent rains. As water storage has reached full capacity, TTD conducted special pujas at Gogarbham Dam on Thursday.
TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu and Additional EO C.H. Venkaiah Chowdhury participated in the ceremony, performed pujas, and offered water aarti.
With abundant rainfall, the Gogarbham, Akashaganga, and Papavinasanam dams in Tirumala are now full. If it rains further, the Kumaradhara and Pasupudhara dams are also expected to fill. Currently, Tirumala consumes 50 lakh gallons of water per day, and the existing reserves are sufficient to meet drinking water needs for the next 300 days.
TTD board members Shantaram, Deputy EO Lokanatham, Water Works EE Sudhakar, VGO Surendra, and other officials participated in the program.
