The ISKCON temple in Tirupati received a bomb threat on Sunday creating panic among the devotees. Following this, the authorities registered a complaint with police about the receival of threatening mail, claiming that ISIS terrorists would blow up the temple.
The local police made arrangements for bomb squads and dog units to check for any explosives. However, there were no traces of explosives or any other objectionable items from the temple premises.
Currently, efforts are underway to nab the perpetrators responsible for the threat, confirmed Circle Inspector Srinivasulu.
Notably, this is the fourth hoax mail the temple town has received in the last three days.
On Saturday, two hotels received bomb threats, which later turned out to be hoax threats. Earlier three hotels received bomb threats in the town, disrupting peace among the devotees.
The Threat has made reference to the alleged drug trafficking network kingpin Jaffer Sadiq. He was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering case.
