Tirupati, December 25, 2024: Bhanuprakash Reddy, a member of the Thitide Governing Council, has raised serious allegations about a Rs. 100 crore scam in Parakamani, Tirumala. In a memorandum submitted to the Chairman of the Thitide Board of Trustees, Reddy demanded a thorough investigation into the matter and strict action against those involved.

Reddy alleged that C.V. Ravikumar, entrusted with counting foreign currency at Parakamani, had been siphoning off foreign currency worth approximately Rs. 200 crore over several years. He further claimed that Ravikumar had reportedly undergone a surgical procedure to implant a device, allowing him to evade security checks.

The controversy escalated on April 29, 2023, when Ravikumar was allegedly caught red-handed while attempting to transport Srivari Hundi cash. A complaint was lodged by Vigilance Assistant Security Officer Satish Kumar, leading to the filing of an FIR. However, instead of facing legal consequences, Ravikumar reportedly reached a compromise through the Lok Adalat in September 2023.

Reddy accused some Thitide officials, police personnel, and the then Thitide chairman of conspiring to seize assets worth Rs. 100 crore from Ravikumar, casting doubt on the transparency of the entire affair. He urged the Thitide Chairman to investigate the movement of foreign currency and ensure accountability in this high-profile case.

The allegations have triggered widespread calls for an impartial probe to uphold the sanctity of Tirumala and its sacred offerings.
