TG Horticulture dept holds training on urban farming

Hyderabad: The Telangana Department of Horticulture on Sunday organised a training programme called, ‘Mana illu mana kuragayalu,’ in Hyderabad. The programme aimed at creating awareness about growing quality, pesticide-free vegetables on terrace or balconies with open spaces.

In an official press note, the Department said that in view of rapid urbanisation, and unavailability of area for cultivation of vegetables amidst increasing vegetable prices, the training programme was organised for interested households of the twin cities at Telangana Horticulture Training Institute. Growing vegetables on terraces and open space of houses will lead to promoting public health and reducing carbon emission, it added.
