Telangana woke up to freezing temperatures on Sunday as the state experienced its coldest morning of the season.
Jainad in Adilabad district recorded a bone-chilling 6.3 degrees Celsius, the lowest temperature across the state this year, according to data from the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS). The cold spell gripped several districts, with temperatures dropping significantly in northern Telangana.
Hyderabad also saw temperatures plunge into single digits in some areas, marking one of the coldest mornings of the season in the city. The BHEL township recorded the lowest temperature in Hyderabad at 9.6 degrees Celsius. Other parts of the city, including Rajendranagar, Patancheru, and Serilingampally, reported similar chilly conditions during the early hours, adding to the overall drop in temperatures across the State capital.
In other regions of Telangana, temperatures fell sharply, with Sirpur-U in Kumuram Bheem Asifabad recording 6.9 degrees Celsius, followed by Pippaldhari in Adilabad at 7 degrees Celsius. Jukkal in Kamareddy logged 7.6 degrees Celsius, while Nizampet in Sangareddy district recorded 8.5 degrees Celsius.
The India Meteorological Department predict that the cold conditions will intensify further over the next two days, with temperatures likely to dip even lower in some parts of Telangana.
