Telangana CM set to unveil mega policy for rapid industrial sector growth

Welspun Group commits Rs 250 crore into IT services, assures jobs to youth of Vikarabad and Adilabad districts

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced that the State Government will unveil a ‘Mega Master policy’ to achieve industrial growth across Telangana State by 2050. The government will pursue a new friendly policy to invite investments for the establishment of industries.

The Chief Minister shared his thought of developing all regions of Telangana on the lines of Hyderabad during a meeting with the representatives of Telangana Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at the Secretariat. A company delegation led by Welspun Group Chairman B K Goenka also met the Chief Minister.

During CII’s meeting with the CM, Chairman of CII Telangana C Shekar Reddy briefed about various initiatives and activities of the CII both at national and state level and assured fullest support to the new State Government. The Chief Minister thanked the delegation for calling on him and expressed his views on taking forward all the positive and progressive policies which will benefit the industry at large and formulate new policies in the days to come. He also requested CII members to provide inputs and suggestions for the overall growth of the State.

Revanth Reddy also said that the Welspun Group has expressed its readiness to invest more into the State. B K Goenka informed him that the company will invest Rs 250 crore into IT services soon at Chandan Valley Industrial Sector. The Group has agreed to develop and promote IT sector in tier 2 and 3 cities by providing IT jobs to the youth of Vikarabad and Adilabad districts. The CM said that the prosperity of rural Telangana is closely linked with the fast pace development and investments in the cities and towns. Revanth Reddy gave few specific directions in the areas of Pharma, Education, Skills and Urban Infrastructure. The Chief Minister appealed to the industrialists to extend cooperation in implementing friendly policy so that all sectors can develop industrially.

As part of this policy, the CM said that Telangana will be divided into three clusters. An Urban Cluster will be developed within the Hyderabad Outer Ring Road (ORR), Semi Urban Cluster between the ORR and the Regional Ring Road. Rural cluster will be developed in the surrounding area after the RRR. These clusters will help to encourage the establishment of industries.

Pharma Villages will be developed instead of Pharma Cities. There are 14 radial roads on ORR, which have connectivity of 12 national highways. A pharma village of around 1,000 to 3,000 acres will be developed close to these radial roads and highways, the CM said. The government will prepare plans to develop these industries with required infrastructure and amenities including schools, and hospitals.

Revanth Reddy said that food processing, sports, automobile and organic clusters along with IT, pharma and health industries will be established in Zaheerabad.
