The Tamil Nadu government is watching the heavy rains in the state very closely. Because of this, schools and colleges in places like Tiruvallur, Chennai, Kancheepuram, and Chengelpet will be closed.

The Chief Minister's office announced that there will be a holiday tomorrow because a lot of rain is expected on October 16.

On Tuesday, government offices, companies, and public organizations in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengelpet, and Kancheepuram will also be closed.

Essential services like police, fire departments, local government, milk and water supply, hospitals, banks, and disaster response teams will keep working as usual. All shops and businesses will remain open.
