Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank
Hindi horror comedy Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank, featuring Rajkumar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead along with Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurrana and Pankaj Tripathi, has scripted history.
According to Taran Adarsh, Bollywood Trade Analyst, Rajkummar Rao Stree 2 has become the highest-grossing Hindi film, with a box office collection of Rs. 586 crore since its release on August 15, 2024. In fact, the film is all set to enter the Rs. 600 crore club.
If Taran’s number posted on X (formerly Twitter) is correct, Stree 2 directed by Amar Kaushik has certainly outperformed Atlee's Jawan, which made ₹640.25 crore in the domestic market. Here's why.
The action thriller earned ₹582.31 crore from its Hindi version, ₹30.08 crore from Tamil, and ₹27.86 crore from Telugu.
In fact, Stree 2 has hit the charts in 34 days, as opposed to 57 days for SRK's Jawan, which makes it more astounding.
Maddock Films, who produced Stree 2, also confirmed the news with a unique poster. The message linked to the tweet stated, “Woh Stree hai aur usne aakhir kar dikhaya... Hindustan ki sab se sarvashresth No. 1 Hindi film of all time!!!
Yeh itihaas humare saath rachane ke liye sab fans ko bahut bahut dhanyavaad.
Stree 2 is still running in cinemas successfully... theatre aao, kuch aur naye records rachate hain!”
