The Delta Airlines regional plane flipped over at Canada's Toronto Pearson Airport injuring 18 of the 80 passengers on board. Social media was abuzz with images showing crew helping passengers evacuate after this terrifying crash, helping passengers evacuate in safety from the plane after it happened. No deaths occurred as a result of this terrifying event. In one video, a flight attendant asks a passenger to turn off their phone during the rescue.
"Passengers walked on the ceiling of the Delta jet which crashed in Toronto. Don't record a viral video. "Put that phone away," a flight attendant was heard saying," an X user wrote when they posted the video.
In the Video a flight attendant tells passengers who are walking up the ceiling of the plane to reach safety to stop and come out. She notices that someone is recording, and she asks them to stop and put their phone away.
The remainder of the video shows an upside down plane resting on a snow-covered surface. In the freezing cold, people are seen running away from the wreckage of the plane. Emergency responders can be seen dousing the plane.
Delta's Statement after the Crash:
Delta Airlines shared the news of the crash on X. "The flight originated at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, MSP," the organisation wrote.
Delta CEO Ed Bastian stated that the hearts of all Delta employees around the world are with those who were affected by the incident at Toronto Pearson International Airport today. Bastian wrote, "I would like to thank the Delta and Endeavor staff and first responders who were on the scene." He added, "We will confirm the details and share the latest information."
