Hyderabad: The Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) Commissionerate in Tirupati observed the seventh anniversary of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) at its premises by presenting awards to the six top taxpayers, including Sri City Pvt Ltd and one of its units, International Flavours & Fragrances (IFF) India Pvt Ltd.
Braj Lal Meena, Additional Commissioner, Hariharan Joint Commissioner, and E Phalguna Kumar, Charted Accountant, as the chief guests presented the awards to the selected six organisations, and commendation certificates to their employees. Their timely filing of returns, payment of tax liabilities, and significant contributions were recognised.
D Sudhakar Reddy, Finance Director of Sri City, received the award on behalf of Sri City. Venkat Bhaskar, senior official of IFF received the award. P Mukund Reddy, Resident Director of the Sri City was present.
Speaking at the event, Meena said that the Tirupati Commissionerate ranked second after Vizag in CGST collection, with revenue increasing to Rs 8,000 crore from this region. Kumar noted that technology has been instrumental in CGST collections, and emphasised the need to improve the quality of services and goods for overall GDP growth.
Besides Sri City and IFF, the other top-performing organisations included, Shirdi Sai Electricals Ltd (Kadapa), JSW Cement Ltd (Kurnool), Pushpit Steels Pvt Ltd (Yerpedu), and Andhra Pragathi Grameena Bank (Kadapa). The event was attended by representatives from various trade and commerce associations.
