On the first day of the PKL 2024 auction, a record was set as four players surpassed the one-crore mark. During this initial day of the two-day auction, 24 players were up for bidding across two categories: eight in Category A and 16 in Category B. By the end of Day 1, 20 of the players had been sold, while four remained unsold.

Sachin Tanwar emerged as the highest-paid player of PKL 2024, securing a salary of Rs 2.15 crore and joining the Tamil Thalaivas. The second most expensive player of the evening was Iranian all-rounder Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyaneh, acquired by Haryana Steelers for Rs 2.07 crore. Pawan Sehrawat was retained by the Telugu Titans for Rs 1.725 crore, with the team using their Final Bid Match (FBM) card to secure the Indian skipper's services.

The most affordable transactions of the evening saw Bengal Warriors sign PKL's best defender, Fazel Atrachali, for just Rs 50 lakh, and Bengaluru Bulls sign league-best raider, Pardeep Narwal, for Rs 70 lakh.
