Jasprit Bumrah, who took over as the captain of Team India from Rohit Sharma for the fifth and final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, was injured on the second day of play. As a result, the fast bowler had to leave the field midway through the second day of the Sydney Test and went for a scan with the medical staff. Indian fans are concerned about Bumrah, who has been in superb form, after he was taken to the hospital.
Meanwhile, fellow fast bowler Prasidh Krishna provided clarity on Bumrah's injury. In the post-match press conference, Prasidh Krishna stated that Bumrah is suffering from back pain and is currently under the medical supervision of the BCCI. He added that the team hopes Bumrah will recover by the next day.
At the end of the second day's play, Team India has scored 141 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their second innings, with a current lead of 145 runs. Ravindra Jadeja (8 not out) and Washington Sundar (6 not out) are at the crease.
