Dubai: Team India secured a commanding four-wicket victory over New Zealand in the Champions Trophy final, claiming their third title in the tournament’s history.
Batting first, New Zealand posted 251/7 in 50 overs, with Daryl Mitchell (63) and Michael Bracewell (53)* leading the charge. Rachin Ravindra (37) and Glenn Phillips (34) provided crucial contributions, while skipper Kane Williamson (11) and Tom Latham (14) failed to make an impact.
In response, India successfully chased down the target with six wickets in hand, thanks to a solid batting display. Rohit Sharma (76 off 83, 7 fours, 3 sixes) anchored the innings, while Shreyas Iyer (48), KL Rahul (34), Shubman Gill (31), Axar Patel (29), Hardik Pandya (18), and Ravindra Jadeja (9)** played key roles.
