The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has addressed the ongoing speculation regarding the Indian cricket team's jerseys for the Champions Trophy 2025. Reports claimed that the Indian team was unwilling to display the host country's name, "Pakistan," on their jerseys, contrary to ICC regulations.

According to ICC norms, team jerseys for official tournaments must feature the host nation's name as part of the event logo. In the 2023 ICC World Cup held in India, the Pakistani team, led by Babar Azam, followed the same rule, displaying the host nation's name on their kits.

The Champions Trophy 2025 was originally scheduled to be hosted entirely in Pakistan. However, citing security concerns, the Indian team refused to travel to the country. As a result, India’s matches were relocated to Dubai. Despite this adjustment, ICC rules still require all participating teams to include the host nation’s name on their kits.

BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia firmly dismissed rumors that India had objected to this regulation. "The Indian cricket team will strictly adhere to all ICC dress code rules for the Champions Trophy," Saikia stated in a conversation with PTI. "We will follow the protocols in true letter and spirit, just like every other participating team."

The relationship between the BCCI and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been strained in recent months due to India’s refusal to play in Pakistan. While a compromise was reached to allow matches in Dubai, the situation reportedly carries financial implications for the BCCI, especially as India is set to host multiple ICC events in the future.

The ICC has reiterated its stance on uniform regulations, warning that non-compliance could lead to strict penalties. The Champions Trophy 2025 will commence on February 19, with India participating in Dubai instead of the original host nation, Pakistan.
