Shocking Pictures Show Sunita Williams Weight Loss: Here's What NASA Said
Indian-origin Sunita Williams, a NASA astronaut, has been stuck in space for months after leaving Earth on the Boeing Starliner for an eight-day voyage in June. Now, according to NASA, Williams and her companion astronaut Barry Wilmore may not be able to return until February 2025.
Amidst mounting concern over their homecoming, a shocking image of hallow-cheeked Williams sparked fear about considerable loss and potential nutritional deficiencies, which are a typical problem for astronauts who spend lengthy periods of time in space.
Considering the situation, questions have also been raised on whether the astronaut is running out of food.
However, in response, NASA clarified in August that the ISS has sufficient provisions to support the crew. "The space station is well-stocked with everything the crew needs, including food, water, clothing and oxygen. Two spacecraft carrying 8,200 pounds of food, fuel, supplies and three tons of cargo arrived at the ISS recently," NASA said.
