Sankar Foundation performs 33,286 eye surgeries in 2023

Visakhapatnam: Sankar Foundation, a leading community eye care service provider in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, has performed a maximum number of eye surgeries and extended quality services to a record number of out-patients during the year 2023.
Sankar Foundation said it conducted 33,286 different types of eye surgeries during the year, achieving a remarkable milestone of 4,33,286 eye surgeries since inception in 1997.
The strong performance was achieved due to the commitment and dedication of the staff, particularly the doctors, the paramedical staff and the outreach team. The management of Sankar Foundation called upon the employees to put more efforts to sustain the spirit in order to take the hospital to new horizons in clinical performance and to achieve a high patient satisfaction index in eye care services. The management said on Sunday that it is taking several proactive initiatives to expand the eye care services further in the industrial area of Gajuwaka as a full-fledged hospital.
During 2023, a total number of 18,714 cataract operations were performed. It had a record in performing 11,492 cataract surgeries under Dr YSR Aarogya Sree. The total number of out-patients screened was 1,40,963.
