On Saturday morning, 22 coaches of the Sabarmati Express, traveling from Varanasi to Ahmedabad, derailed between Kanpur and Bhimsen in Uttar Pradesh.

The derailment, which occurred after the engine struck an object, resulted in no injuries.

Indian Railways has provided buses to help passengers reach Kanpur and make alternative travel arrangements to Ahmedabad.

Seven trains have been cancelled, and three diverted due to the incident.

The derailment happened at 2:29 am, about 30 minutes after departing Kanpur Central. Initial reports indicate a boulder damaged the engine's cattle guard.
