The BCCI has unveiled India's T20 World Cup squad, with Rohit Sharma appointed as the captain and Hardik Pandya as the vice-captain. Rishabh Pant makes a notable return to international cricket after recovering from a serious car accident in 2022. He's currently showcasing his skills with the Delhi Capitals in the IPL.

Sanju Samson also secures a spot in the squad, showcasing his prowess both as a batsman and captain for the Rajasthan Royals in the ongoing IPL. KL Rahul finds himself dropped from the side, while Hardik Pandya retains his vice-captaincy despite a tough stint as captain for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL.

Shivam Dube earns his place in the team based on his impressive performance in the IPL. Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who last represented India in August 2023, joins as the second wrist spinner alongside Kuldeep Yadav.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, despite a sluggish start in the IPL with the Rajasthan Royals, secures his place in the squad. The T20 World Cup, co-hosted by West Indies and the US, is scheduled from June 1 to June 29, 2024.

The complete T20 World Cup squad includes Rohit Sharma (c), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wk), Sanju Samson (wk), Hardik Pandya (VC), Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Siraj. Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, Khaleel Ahmed, and Avesh Khan have been named as reserves.

The squad was finalized during a selection committee meeting attended by BCCI's chief selector Ajit Agarkar and BCCI Secretary Jay Shah in Ahmedabad.
