The grand parade began at 10:30 AM with President Droupadi Murmu and Indonesia's President Prabowo Subianto, the Chief Guest, arriving at Kartavya Path. The event featured an impressive lineup of over 18 marching contingents, 31 tableaux, and 5,000 performers, presenting the theme "Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas" (Golden India: Heritage and Progress).
PM Modi started his day by paying homage to India’s martyrs at the National War Memorial before witnessing the parade. He later shared visuals of stunning aerial displays by 40 aircraft and helicopters, including Mi-17 IV helicopters, fighter jets, and transport aircraft from the Indian Air Force, which left the audience in awe.
One of the most talked-about moments from the event was the participation of parade commander Lt General Bhavnish Kumar and his son, Lieutenant Ahan Kumar, who led the 61 Cavalry contingent — a rare and heartwarming father-son duo.
The cultural richness of India shone brightly with vibrant tableaux from 16 states and union territories, along with 10 ministries and central departments, depicting India’s diversity and development. The first-ever tri-service tableau highlighted jointness and integration among the Armed Forces.
The event also welcomed special guests, including Kerala's Tribal King Raman Rajamannan and his wife Binumol, marking the first Republic Day parade attendance by a Mannan community leader. Additionally, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, present at the celebrations, saluted the national flag and urged citizens to uphold the values of the Constitution with pride.
As evening descended, Delhi's iconic India Gate lit up in the colors of the tricolor, symbolizing the unity and pride of the nation. PM Modi’s shared visuals captured these highlights, showcasing the grandeur and patriotic fervor that marked the 76th Republic Day celebrations.
