Visakhapatnam: Utkal Sansrutika Samaj a premier socio-cultural organisation on Monday organised the return rath yatra called Bahuda with religious fervour from the Gundicha Ghar to the sanctum sanctorum near All India Radio.
The chariot carrying Lord Jagannath , Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra from the Gundicha Temple in Lawson’s Bay Colony to their main abode at Daspalla Hills was pulled by the devotees amid chanting of vedic hymns. The Bahuda yatra marked the culmination of a nine-day sojourn by the deities to their aunt’s place.
The deities were taken out to the colourfully decorated chariot in a ritual called ‘Pahandi’ and traditional sweeping of the platform of the chariot called ‘Chera Pahara’ by Samaj president and Director of OSL Group JK Nayak.
