Pushpa 2 Box Office Day 10: Allu Arjun's Film Nears ₹1200 Crore, Beats Jawan
Pushpa 2: The Rule, featuring Allu Arjun in the lead, continues its dominant streak at the global box office, achieving a resurgence after recent events surrounding its star. The action-packed sequel has not only outperformed Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan but is now set to overtake KGF: Chapter 2 as it nears the coveted Rs 1200 crore milestone worldwide.
On its tenth day, Pushpa 2: The Rule experienced a boost in collections, recording a 74 per cent jump in India and 70 per cent globally, propelling its cumulative earnings to Rs 1196 crore worldwide. According to data from Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 86 crore on Saturday alone, a sharp rise from Friday’s Rs 51 crore.
The spike came in the wake of Allu Arjun’s high-profile arrest and release related to a fan’s death during the movie’s premiere event. This controversy seems to have fueled renewed audience interest, leading to packed theatres on its second Saturday. The domestic net collections for the film now stand at Rs 826 crore, with a gross figure of Rs 986 crore, while the overseas gross has reached an impressive Rs 210 crore.
With its latest earnings, Pushpa 2 has officially overtaken Jawan’s lifetime box office collection and is on track to surpass KGF: Chapter 2, which amassed Rs 1208 crore globally. Industry experts predict that the film could cross this mark by Sunday, solidifying its place as one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. The next target for Pushpa 2 would be SS Rajamouli’s RRR, which earned Rs 1309 crore worldwide.
After seeing a dip in overseas earnings post the fifth day, Pushpa 2 has regained momentum in international markets. On its tenth day, the film’s earnings abroad approached $2 million, marking a strong comeback. This resurgence reinforces its potential to challenge the all-time top-grossers like Dangal and Baahubali 2 in the overseas circuit.
Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2: The Rule serves as the sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise, which catapulted Allu Arjun into pan-India stardom. The latest installment sees the actor reprising his role as the charismatic gangster Pushpa Raj, alongside Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil.
