President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday celebrated the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Indian Constitution by releasing a commemorative coin.
If we talk about the release, it is a coin that is issued to honour a person, event, or milestone and has a distinctive design that references the occasion.
During the ceremony, President Murmu addressed a joint sitting of both Houses of Parliament, highlighting the significance of the Indian Constitution and its role in shaping the country's democracy. She also highlighted recent developments and said, "The law on women’s reservation has initiated a new era of women empowerment in our democracy."
Marking the event, the President has also unveiled the first Sanskrit copy and Maithili version of the constitution.
Alongside President, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla congratulated the millions of Indians celebrating Constitution Day. "I congratulate the millions of Indians celebrating Constitution Day today. Seventy-five years ago, on this day, our Constitution was codified. Under the leadership of the President, the entire country is united in expressing gratitude towards the Constitution today. Today, millions of countrymen will take a pledge to move the country forward by reciting the Preamble of the Constitution," he said.
