Meerut news: The Meerut murder case of an officer from the merchant navy in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh is revealing some gruesome details. Muskaan Rastogi, Saurabh's wife, allegedly plotted the murder since November and even purchased knives and sedatives for preparation.
Saurabh Rajput (29), a former officer of the merchant navy, returned from London to his home on 24 February in order to celebrate birthdays for both his wife and daughter. A little over a week after his return, he was the victim of a terrifying conspiracy. His body had been dismembered in cement and placed inside a drum.
Muskaan's lover, Sahil Shukla, 25, is alleged to have helped her.
Police say that the two meticulously planned their murder. They purchased weapons, sedatives, and even scouted disposal sites. The pair rekindled their relationship in 2019 via a WhatsApp group for school students, which escalated quickly into an affair.
Muskaan decided to marry Sahil and leave Saurabh. According to police sources, Muskaan and Sahil killed Saurabh because they saw him as an obstacle and wanted to be together.
Muskaan Rastogi is accused of hatching the murder plot
According to a report from NDTV the murder plot of Saurabh was hatched and executed by his wife Muskaan. She convinced her boyfriend Sahil that his mother spoke to him via Snapchat, even though she was dead.
She convinced her boyfriend her mother was reincarnated, and that she was communicating with him via Snapchat. This led him to agree to help her kill Saurabh.
Muskaan started looking for a place to bury Saurabh's body after she decided to kill him, Mr Singh explained. She asked her friends where she could bury the material she used for a puja. The friends didn't help her to find a suitable place.
