PM Modi Invites Vladimir Putin To India; Visit Likely to be in Early 2025
Russian President Vladimir Putin has received an invitation from PM Narendra Modi to visit India and the dates are likely to be somewhere around early 2025, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said.
As per Russian Embassy in India, Putin and PM Modi have an agreement to hold meetings once in a year and now it’s Russia’s turn this time.
The diplomat said, “Our leaders have an agreement to hold meetings once a year. This time, it's our turn.” He added, “We received Mr. Modi's invitation and we will certainly consider it positively.”
He added, “We will figure out the tentative dates early next year.”
Notably, this will be Putin’s first visit to India since the beginning of Russia-Ukraine conflict in 2022.
After assuming office for the third time, PM Narendra Modi travelled to Russia to participate in 22nd Russia-India summit. He was awarded Russia’s highest national award “The Order of St. Andrew the Apostle”.
During October, PM Modi also attended two-day BRICS Summit in Kazan. He thanked the people of Russia and their government for their warm hospitality.
