PCS Prelims: Government Has Relaxed Examination Norms
Recently, the state government eased examination norms for the combined State/Senior Subordinate Service (Prelims) Examination 2024, also known as PCS.
UPPSC Protest Result
In the order issued on Thursday, signed by undersecretary Omkar Nath Singh, it was stated that the exam must no longer require the establishment of an examination centre within 10 km of a bus station, railway station or government building.
The new government order came after the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) accepted the requests of students who had been protesting outside the UPPSC headquarters in Prayagraj for three days. According to the decision, the administration has chosen to return to the approach of holding the exam in a single day rather than two days.
However, the new regulation clearly states that only government-run and government-aided secondary schools would be designated as test centres, with no exceptions.
