In a significant development pertaining to the Rameshwaram Cafe blast case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has apprehended a crucial conspirator following extensive raids conducted across multiple locations in three states.

The arrested individual, identified as Muzammil Shareef, has been taken into custody as a co-conspirator after NIA teams conducted operations at 18 different locations. These locations included 12 in Karnataka, five in Tamil Nadu, and one in Uttar Pradesh, as per an official statement released by the agency.

Taking charge of the investigation on March 3, the NIA had previously identified Mussavir Shazeeb Hussain as the primary perpetrator of the blast, while also naming another accomplice, Abdul Matheen Taha, who remains at large and is also wanted in connection with other cases.

According to NIA findings, Muzammil Shareef provided logistical support to the aforementioned accused individuals in executing the IED explosion at the Café situated on ITPL road, Brookefield, Bengaluru, on March 1. The explosion resulted in injuries to several customers and hotel staff, some of whom sustained severe injuries, besides causing extensive property damage.

Raids were conducted at the residences of the three primary accused as well as at the homes and shops of other suspects. During these searches, various digital devices along with cash were seized.

The agency has intensified efforts to apprehend the fugitive accused and unravel the broader conspiracy behind the blast.
