The much-awaited new Aadhaar app Beta version has been launched by, a move that promises to make Aadhaar more accessible and secure. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday, April 8, announced the testing phase of Aadhaar.
What does Aadhaar application mean?
Ashwini Vaishnaw, on X, declaimed that a new Aadhaar application, currently in Beta testing and to be launched for the masses nationwide soon, brings together face ID authentication and artificial intelligence (AI). Besides, the app aims to provide the digital Aadhaar service via a mobile application for the benefit of Indian citizens.
Where there is complete personal control over the information being collected, the Aadhaar app eliminates the need for the user to keep a physical Aadhaar card or photocopies of it.

With digital Aadhaar accessibility, physical card would no longer be required
Developed in association with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the app's hallmark feature is QR code-based instant verification.

This will do away with the need for individuals to carry physical photocopies or cards while travelling, checking into hotels, or even shopping.
The app promises greater privacy.
Its usage was recommended by the union minister to put an end to threats posed by misuse and leakage of Aadhaar data.

How to download e-Aadhar through mAadhar app?
Open up the Google Play Store (Android) or the Apple App Store (iOS) and search for "mAadhaar"; download and install the app.
Download e-Aadhaar using the mAadhaar app by taking the following procedure:
- After downloading the mAadhaar app, launch the app and provide your 12-digit Aadhaar number or 28-digit EID number.
- Enter mobile number registered and click "Generate OTP."
- Use the received OTP and then click on "Verify".
- Click on "Download Aadhaar".
- Enter the Aadhaar password and click "Submit".
User would be downloaded an e-Aadhaar in a PDF format.
