Mumbai, Feb 24: During the evening hours on Saturday, Railway operated 5 Unreserved trains to Prayag from the New Delhi station, catering to the surge in crowds for the weekend. Continuous monitoring of ticket sales and crowd is being done at the highest level. Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Railways was monitoring the situation from War room, Railway Board while Shri Ashok Kumar Verma, General Manager Northern Railway was keeping an eye from mini control room at New Delhi Station.*
On Saturday last, during the evening hours, ticket sales for Prayagraj were higher than the normal.
From 1800 hrs to 1900 hrs, 2375 tickets were sold for Prayagraj. Considering the demand, Unreserved trains for Prayag were operated on an hourly basis.
Dilip Kumar, ED (I&P), Rly, said, “Railway is running more than 350 trains from Prayag raj Area serving more than 15 lakhs passengers on an average during Mahakumbh 2025.”
