Mohini Dey, AR Rahman's bassist, recently talked about her separation from her husband, Mark Hartsuch.
She shared the news just hours after AR Rahman and his wife, Saira Banu, also announced their separation on November 20. Mohini has been working with Rahman for many years.
After both separations happened at the same time, some people started to spread rumors about a possible connection between Mohini and Rahman.
To clear things up, Mohini posted a message on Instagram on November 22.
She said she was getting many requests for interviews but did not want to talk about rumors. She asked everyone to respect her privacy and ignore the false stories.
AR Rahman's son, Ameen, also spoke about the rumors. He shared a message on Instagram, asking people to respect his family’s privacy.
He explained that his father is a legendary musician and should be treated with respect. Ameen asked people not to spread false rumors about his family.
Rahman and Saira Banu's lawyer, Vandana Shah, also spoke out and said that there is no connection between the two separations.
She explained that Rahman and Saira made the decision on their own. Rahman and Saira got married in 1995 and have three children—Ameen, Khatija, and Raheema.
