In the ongoing Lok Sabha Polls 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made significant announcements during his rally in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir. PM Modi Udhampur Rally was about assuring the people that statehood would be reinstated in Jammu and Kashmir soon, along with the promise of holding assembly elections. PM Modi emphasised his government's decision to revoke Article 370, which granted special status to the region, and challenged the opposition to revive it.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh is contesting from the Udhampur Lok Sabha seat. This marks PM Modi's third visit to Jammu and Kashmir this year, showcasing the region's importance in the Indian elections.

PM Modi's speech at Udhampur rally also addressed the issue of Ram Mandir, criticising the Congress for neglecting the significance of its construction. The political campaign highlighted that the temple issue transcends electoral politics and has historical significance.

Following his engagement in Udhampur, PM Modi is scheduled to address another rally in Rajasthan, Barmer, and conduct a road show in Dausa later in the day. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin and Rahul Gandhi, Congress leader, are set to address a rally in Coimbatore, a crucial constituency for the BJP.

The nomination process for the third phase of Lok Sabha polls, covering 94 constituencies across 12 states, commenced on 13th April, with 19th April as the deadline. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is also actively campaigning in Tamil Nadu. He will be participating in multiple events to support BJP candidates.

In Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav - Samajwadi Party President, along with Congress, is set to begin campaigning from the Pilibhit constituency. The Lok Sabha elections are scheduled in seven phases, starting from April 19, with the final counting on June 4.
