The Kuwaiti government will give $15,000 to each family of the victims of a fire that killed 50 people, including 46 Indians, in the southern Ahmadi Governorate.

On July 12, there was a fire in Mangaf city because something went wrong with electricity in a building where 196 workers lived. Many of the workers were from India.

According to Kuwaiti authorities, the compensation was instructed by the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Kuwaiti authorities said that the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, decided to give money to help, as reported by The Arab Times.

The money will go through the victims’ embassies to their families.

Three other people who died were Filipinos, and one person's identity is not known.

The embassies will make sure the money gets to the families quickly and well. The aim of this financial help is to support the families during this tough time, the newspaper said.

The Indian government said it will give Rs 2 lakh to the families of Indian nationals who died in the fire.

The Kerala government will give Rs 5 lakh to the families of people from the state who died in the fire. Twenty-four of the Indians who died were from Kerala.

Kuwait’s public prosecutor is investigating the fire to find out what caused it.

A Kuwaiti citizen and some foreigners have been arrested on charges of causing death and injuries because they didn't make things safe enough after the fire.
