The woman wanted to invest in the stock market and was searching for advice online. While looking, she received a WhatsApp message with a link. She thought it was real and followed the scammers’ instructions to download a mobile app. She started with a small investment, and at first, the scammers showed her good returns, which made her believe everything was okay.
Feeling encouraged, she invested more money. But later, she realised she had been tricked and filed a complaint with the police.
