Kannada Actress Ranya Rao Arrested For Smuggling 15 Kg Gold

Kannada actress Ranya Rao was arrested by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) for allegedly smuggling 14.8 kg of gold worth over Rs 12 crore.

According to officials, Ranya Rao was intercepted by DRI officials at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, where she was attempting to smuggle the gold from Dubai. The official also confirmed the arrest on Tuesday, stating that she was apprehended on Monday night and subsequently presented before an economic offenses court, which remanded her to 14 days in judicial custody.

Moreover, authorities are currently investigating whether she was working alone or was part of a larger gold smuggling syndicate operating from Dubai and India.
