ISRO To Launch Proba-3 Mission Satellites on December 4
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has announced that the PROBA-3 mission will be launched on December 4 at 4:06 p.m. from Andhra Pradesh's Sriharikota. This highly anticipated mission will see the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV)-C59 carrying satellites weighing nearly 550 kg into a very elliptical orbit.
As it involves the launch of the European Space Agency's (ESA) PROBA-3, which is part of an “In-Orbit Demonstration (IOD) mission,” the mission is going to be a significant milestone in space exploration. The objective of the mission is to show precision formation flight, which allows two spacecraft to operate in perfect alignment.
ISRO on the social media site X said, "Join us LIVE for the PSLV-C59/Proba-3 Mission! Led by NSIL and executed by ISRO, this mission will launch ESA’s Proba-3 satellites into a unique orbit, reflecting India’s growing contributions to global space exploration."
Furthermore, according to an official release, PSLV-C59 is slated to launch from Sriharikota on December 4; however, those who are unable to see it from the location can watch it on the ISRO's official YouTube page.
